Standard AIS broadcasts a vessel's position and identity to anyone listening, which is the opposite of what your operations need when coordinating covertly or protecting sensitive movements. R6 Secure AIS solves this by layering encrypted communication onto the proven AIS Class-A platform, keeping your fleet invisible to the public network while still giving your teams the complete open AIS picture. It's also fully compatible with earlier R4 and R5 Secure AIS systems already in service, so fleets can upgrade without losing interoperability.
Five selectable modes (Normal, Silent, Tactical, Hybrid and External) and up to 128 scheduled encryption keys, so operators can switch postures instantly without changing hardware.
Dedicated third VHF channel, kept separate from AIS1/AIS2 to avoid interference with public traffic
Up to AES 256-bit and Blowfish encryption, plus STANAG 4668 Ed.2 Annex C/D support for allied systems
