As pioneers in marine electronics, we have embarked on a journey towards a more sustainable future. We know that true sustainability goes beyond mere words—it requires unwavering dedication, focus, and transparency.
With over 80 years of innovation already behind us, we understand the vital importance of preserving the marine environment for generations to come. To ensure we meet this aim we are defining a roadmap through to 2030 setting out clear objectives. We are committed to taking tangible actions towards sustainability, focusing on identifying impactful areas for positive change rather than just making promises.
One area where we can make a positive impact is how we approach the design and development of our products and solutions. Typically, products such as radar have a need for frequent servicing and replacing of worn parts - this requirement often leads to engineers travelling great distances to vessels to perform such tasks.
Our approach is to design products with longevity at the core - this means fewer replacement parts and fewer servicing intervals, greatly reducing the impact on the environment from a manufacturing and engineer travel perspective.
Furthermore, innovative system design that allows for remote diagnostics and commissioning means that service engineers and installers can access our navigation systems remotely - this means that previous on-board tasks can now be completed without the need for costly and timely travel to the vessel.
Innovative product and solution design is just one of the many areas where we can make a real impact. A reduction in packaging, plastic removal and lowering our carbon emissions are other areas of focus. As we look forward, we are continuing to assess and evaluate all areas of our operations as we strive for a more sustainable future.
