Sales Director, Germany
From the German Navy to product tankers, and now leading sales at Raymarine Commercial, Frank Brugger's career has been shaped by a genuine passion for the sea.
Today, Frank leads the sales farming team, helping customers strengthen navigational safety, keep pace with regulation, and reduce administrative workload.
Frank's career began in 1990 with the German Navy. After ten years of service, he left to study Nautical Sciences, a decision that reinforced his practical experience with a solid theoretical background.
Following his studies, he returned to sea, this time as an officer and later senior officer on product tankers. His last role before joining Raymarine Commercial was as a Superintendent and Manager in the Marine department of a ship owner and ship manager.
He joined Raymarine Commercial in April 2020 as a Navigation Consultant, and in January 2023 became Sales Director.
Frank's motivation for a career in commercial maritime is simple: a passion for the sea. He holds a Master Mariner license and stays current on regulations and industry standards through newsletters, seminars, and similar resources.
As Sales Director, Frank leads the sales farming team, working closely with customers to understand how Raymarine Commercial's solutions can support their operations. For him, the most rewarding part of the role is seeing that impact play out in practice:
For Frank, the most rewarding part of working in commercial maritime is the chance to support the people who keep global shipping moving. He values building relationships with shipowners, operators, and crews, understanding their challenges, and helping them improve their operations. Seeing the direct impact of Raymarine Commercial products and services on safety, navigation, and customer success is what he finds most fulfilling.
