Florian Friesecke brings a rare combination of front line maritime experience and product innovation leadership to Raymarine Commercial. Having spent years at sea navigating complex operational environments, he now leads the development of the very tools modern bridge teams rely on to operate safely, efficiently, and with confidence.
Florian began his maritime career sailing with AIDA Cruises between 2012 and 2016, progressing from Junior Officer to Senior First Officer. During this time, he was responsible for watch keeping, ship handling, and overseeing safety, compliance, and auditing processes on international cruise vessels. Leading multicultural bridge teams and representing senior command in critical operations gave him a deep, practical understanding of the pressures faced by today’s mariners.
Transitioning ashore in 2017, Florian joined ChartWorld / SevenCs in Hamburg, where he moved from developing maritime e-learning tools to managing voyage planning and routing solutions. His progression into product management positioned him at the forefront of innovation in nautical software, combining deep domain expertise with a strategic product mindset.
Today, as Director of Product Management for Raymarine Commercial, Florian leads the vision, strategy, and execution of voyage solutions, routing technologies, and nautical data integration used by commercial operators worldwide.
Florian has played a key role in transforming maritime software from concept to industry-leading solutions. Under his leadership, products such as advanced routing systems and MyRA have evolved from early-stage ideas into tools that are reshaping how voyage planning is approached across the industry.
His focus is simple: develop solutions that reduce complexity on the bridge while enhancing safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
